WHY ARE YOU RUNNING?
I am embarrassed at the current dysfunction of the Lincoln County Commission.
WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT FROM OTHER CANDIDATES?
The Commission Office is dysfunctional, and I have the leadership skills and history of how the office ran in the past, and how to get it back to functioning properly.
WHAT ARE YOUR TOP 3 PRIORITIES?
· To get the Commission Office back on track.
· To get all County departments back to working for the County residents.
· Encourage small business manufacturing in our rural towns, which would require good roads, reliable utilities, and internet.
HOW WILL YOU DECIDE WHERE TAXPAYER MONEY GOES?
· Roads, Law enforcement, health
· I envision myself as a tightwad taxpayer with a good heart!
HOW WILL YOU STAY TRANSPARENT WITH VOTERS?
· Ask a question and you will receive an answer.
HOW CAN PEOPLE REACH YOU?
· I can be reached at any reasonable time by phone call, text or email.
WHAT WILL YOU DO ABOUT HOUSING AFFORDABILITY?
· Research, and define all restrictions that impede housing/commercial construction, and work on any that Commissioners can change or influence.
· Review the County fee schedule to be sure that permit fees-imposed line up with actual costs to perform the permit functions (as required by law).
HOW WILL YOU SUPPORT LOCAL JOBS?
· Check to see if there is bureaucracy in the way.
· In unincorporated areas, check the restrictions on how the transient room tax ordinance controls how the tax is spent, and do more to advertise tourism in unincorporated areas.
WHAT IS YOUR STANCE ON SHORT-TERM RENTALS?
· I am a strong believer in local property rights, however, also understand problems with short term rentals.
HOW WILL YOU IMPROVE EMERGENCY SERVICES?
· Be sure the hospital stays open, and work on solving traffic issues.
WHAT DO YOU DISAGREE WITH CURRENT LEADERSHIP ABOUT?
· There is no leadership.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY STARTING DAY ONE?
· Day 1 I would get all Commissioners to accept their respective department responsibilities, and we would begin taking leadership roles in the County.
WHERE WILL YOU SAY “NO” EVEN IF IT IS UNPOPULAR?
· I would say no to spending the taxpayer’s money if it does not have a direct benefit to residents of the County.
